is TMJ? |
| TMJ
Disorders (or TMD) are a misalignment of the upper and lower
jaws. TMJ is aggravated by stress and is often the result
of chronic jaw clenching and teeth grinding. |

| What
are the signs? |
| TMD
can present a distressing syndrome of pain, limited jaw movement,
clicking, popping and crepitus (a grating sound similar to
the crumbling sound of parchment paper) in the jaw joint.
A wide range of symptoms may occur, such as headaches, muscle
pain, ear pain, spasms of the head, neck, shoulder, and/or
back dizziness, ringing and stuffiness in the ears, blurred
vision, etc. |

are TMD's treated? |
| Treatment
for TMJ is individualized and may include a combination of
medical and dental therapies. Treatment of your particular
problem will be determined by your particular diagnosis. |
